"BTA Insurance Company" SE (hereinafter referred to as BTA Insurance) was established in 1 November 1993 in Riga, using local capital and received an activity license for insurance activities on 17 December of the same year.

Financial stability of BTA is based on four cornerstones: shareholders' equity, technical reserves, reasonable reinsurance and conservative investment policy.

Most of reinsurance contracts are made in known Western European reinsurance companies, such as General & Cologne Re, Munich Re, Lloyd's of London, Swiss Re, ERC Frankona.
